How To Make A Cardassian
Page 3 - Adjusting the Face
Now it's time to make adjustments to Woody's face.
03a. There were several things we did here. The first was to match Woodukat's new face with the overall face. I used the Adjust>Hue and Saturation>Hue/Saturation/Lightness. Play with the Hue first until you get the general color you want, then tweak the saturation. Lightness is exactly what it says. Once that is done you can soften around the edges of the "new" skin and add noise to it. A TIP: Soften with the Fuzz Soft brush. You can soften more or lightly by the number of times you pass the brush over an area. Also, more the brush over an area and click once. It'll softem it a little. Click again to soften more.
03b. - Select the Magic Wand (It's a Selection tool - the same as the Lasso and Rectangle). Click on a "smooth area" and any adjacent area that matches will be included in the outline. Add noise to give that area roughness and texture.

03c. - The last thing to do is copy Woody's eyes, as I have done here, and paste them onto Woodukat as a New Layer. Remove the excess and useless skin. Add noise to the glasses if you like, then add noise to the overall image. Experiment with adding noise - as you noticed it makes a smooth area look textured and turns smooth rounded bumps into sharper edged bumps.
